American Metro was originally named Metro Cash Register Systems. It was founded in 1974 by a couple hard working employees of Guarantee cash register. They started working out of a couple VERY old station wagons. In 1975, the lease was signed on the shop at University and Vandalia in the heart of the Midway, on the border of St. Paul and Minneapolis. This shop was our home until 2005 when we finally couldn’t fit in one more paperclip. Over the next 6 years we moved two times and are now in a great facility in beautiful Shoreview.
Why We Do What We Do
The first and most honest answer why we got into business was to make money. Anyone starting a business that doesn’t admit that might not be 100% honest. We do this because we want to prove that every time we meet a new customer, we can do it better. Every time we work with a new event, we can help make them more profitable. We firmly believe in the win/win relationship. If we help someone have a better business or run a better event, it will help us grow our business as well. We discovered a long time ago that one person telling others about a great experience they had with us, is better than any 60 second super-bowl ad. (except maybe the one with Mean Joe Green throwing his Jersey to the little boy)
